Members of the Pinehurst Village Heritage Foundation were elated to pass on the keys of the new Timmel Arboretum to Pinehurst Village council members, at this kick-off dedication and reception on Thursday, May 16. The PVHF members beamed with pride to see their dream of the pavilion actually come into fruition, and expressed their thanks to the many donors and honored guests in attendance. The pavilion, which is now owned and managed by the Village of Pinehurst, is located on the Meadow in the Village Arboretum, and is named in honor of Lieselotte Timmel, who before her death in November, 2011, left a significant donation for the construction of the structure.
